FIRM HISTORY
Landry, Watkins, Repaske & Breaux has been engaged in the practice of law as a partnership for 55 years, having been origianally organized in 1952 under the name of Landry, Watkins, Cousin & Landry. Its founding members were Jacob S. Landry, Guyton H. Watkins, Jack J. Cousin and Alfred Smith Landry.
Although the firm has evolved over the years, two of the original partners are still active, Guyton H. Watkins, who serves “Of Counsel” to the firm, and Alfred Smith Landry, who is a senior partner. Other partners are Edward P. Landry, William A. Repaske, and Kreig A. Breaux. David Lamm is an associate with the firm.
The hallmark of this firm is loyalty and service to its clients, and its present and former clients can serve as references for the professionalism and integrity of the lawyers of the firm and the efficiency and quality with which the firm has performed its services, at all times giving primacy to the interests of its clients.
It is the policy of the firm not only to provide the best legal service to its clients, but also to contribute something to the community in which the firm is located by being actively involved in its civic affairs. As proof of the dedication of the firm to this principle, its partners and “Of Counsel” lawyer include past presidents of the New Iberia Kiwanis Club and the New Iberia Optimists Club, a former member of the Iberia Parish School Board and former members of the boards of local private schools, a recipient of the Outstanding Citizen Award of the City of New Iberia and two recipients of the Outstanding Young Man Award of the New Iberia Junior Chamber of Commerce.
PRACTICE AREAS
The firms current members have a long history of experience in the handling of banking, real estate, insurance, title, public utility, corporate contract, mineral law, personal injury, property damage, worker’s compensation, bankruptcy and collection matters, and have litigated cases in all of these areas of endeavor.
All of the partners of the firm are qualified to practice in state and federal district courts, and appeal courts, of the State of Louisiana, and its senior partner is admitted to practice in the United States Supreme Court.
Alfred Smith Landry and William A. Repaske are qualified to serve as a mediators.
